Where wild art is drawn

Welcome. I’m Gillian, the illustrator behind A Singing Cricket. My studio sits on the edge of the Otways National Park, where the wilderness drifts from the bush to my brush.

My Illustrations

I create finely detailed botanical, natural history and children’s book illustrations that celebrate the quiet connections between flora and fauna. My work combines the precision of a naturalist and imagination of a storyteller, offering pieces that are both scientifically accurate and full of wonder.

Each artwork is made with care, often on a miniature scale, inviting you to see the natural world in a more intimate and tender way.

“I create unique illustrations to connect people with the quiet beauty and stories of the natural world.”
